Nepal Development Marketplace 2005 award

ENPHO has received the World Bank Nepal Development Marketplace 2005 award (locally branded as “Lau Na Aba Ta Kehi Garau”contest) for the implementation of project “Sustainable Safe Water Provision in Rural Parsa District - Project 0599”. The main objective of the project is to provide Kanchan Arsenic Filter (KAF) as sustainable and appropriate household water treatment alternative for arsenic and pathogens in two VDCs of Parsa District. The World Bank granted ENPHO NRs. 14, 00,000 for the project implementation. The project will be jointly implemented by ENPHO and Nepal Red Cross Society, Parsa District Chapter in two highly arsenic affected VDCs (Langadi and Mudali) of Parsa District. This program endeavor to demonstrate micro-financing and subsidy model by participating local people to make KAF access for all.

National Environment Award 2062

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2005, ENPHO received the National Environment Award from His Royal Highness Prince Parash Bir Bikram Shah Dev at a program organized by His Majesty Government, Ministry of Environment, Science & Technology.

 

 

Enpho was recognised by Lalitpur sub-metropilital City Ward no.6 thapahiti: tole for the rehabilitation of the stone spouts of ancient significance on 6 august 205.

The World Bank Group

Development Market (DM), A program of World Bank has awarded DM2003 Global Competition Award to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Environment & Public Health Organization (ENPHO) for promotion of improved biosand filter for removal of arsenic and pathogens from drinking water. This filter was invented by joint effort of researcher from MIT and ENPHO. World Bank has awarded USD 115,000 for the proposed program which will be jointly implemented by MIT, ENPHO and RWSSSP in arsenic affected villages of rural Nepal. The project includes work with villagers to encourage long-term, self reliant safe water provision.

Arsenic Bio-sand filter (ABF) is being promoted as a sustainable and appropriate household water treatment alternative for arsenic & pathogens in rural Terai. ABF Reference centre at Kathmandu is the hub for arsenic dissemination.
