Water Expertise and Training Centre (WET CENTRE)

The WET centre is providing leadership, training, technical consulting, educational resources and networking services to NGOs, government agencies and community groups in local water and sanitation sector. The key activities of WET Centre includes capacity building training programmes on Household Water Treatment options, water awareness seminars, action research programme and development of standard training modules and manuals on HWTS, Biosand Filter and Kanchan Arsenic FIlter Construction and Promotion, and Community Health Promotion. More than 427 people were trained on Safe Drinking Water, BSF, KAF and HWTS. So far, 52 agencies were trained on construction of BSF and KAF out of which 35 trained local entrepreneurs are actively promoting BSF and KAF at local level. More than 2,000 KAF and 450 BSF have been distributed during the project period. WET Centre in collaboration with CAWST had also organized “Learning Exchange 2010 Programme” where representatives from WET Centers at Zambia, Cambodia and Afghanistan actively participated. As a part of pre learning exchange activity, ENPHO organized Three Days Hands-on training on preparation of Chlorine solution and P/A and Ecological sanitation to participants from Canada, Cambodia and Zambia.
