  As ENPHO’s mission is to promote appropriate technologies and practices to enable communities become environment friendly, knowledge-based education and advocacy campaigns are one of the core activities of ENPHO. In order to reach out to the general public, respond to public demand for information and launch education and advocacy campaigns, ENPHO has established a Resource Centre (RC). The Resource Centre collects, stores and disseminates information and uses them to conduct education and advocacy campaigns on environment and public health. ENPHO-Resource Center is a member of the Resource Centre Network Nepal (RCNN), which aims to establish an information network among national and international organizations working in the WATSAN sector.  
 
Objectives

The main objectives of the Resource Centre are as follows:

  • Information management - Collect & manage relevant information so that it is easily accessible to anyone interested
  • Advocacy - Design and conduct information-based advocacy campaigns
  • Education - Conduct Education activities for students and the general public
Services

In order to achieve its objectives, the Resource Centre implements following services and activities:

  • Library: The Resource Centre maintains an up-to-date collection of books, reports, magazines, newsletters and CDs on topics relevant to environmental management to serve the needs of students, scholars and the general public.
  • Information Education and Communication (IEC) Materials: In order to disseminate information on different programs and technologies the Resource Centre produces a variety of IEC Materials to suit the needs of various target audiences.
  • Publications: The Resource Centre produces and distributes following publications:
    • Anjuli - ENPHO’s quarterly newsletter on environmental issues
    • Monthly E-bulletin
    • ENPHO Magazine - Annual Bulletin containing technical papers
    • ENPHO Annual Report
    • Other publications produced by various programs of ENPHO
  • ENPHO Website: Update ENPHO website (www.enpho.org) with latest news and information on ENPHO activities.
  • Media Service: In order to reach out to a large number of people, ENPHO has been and will continue to support journalists by providing information and training as per requirement.
  • Trainings: The RC organizes training programs on diverse topics such as SODIS application, Eco-San, water quality analysis and water optimization to different target groups.
  • Interaction Programmes: The RC, in association with Clean Energy Nepal and Green Youth Network, organizes regular interaction programmes on various issues of environment and public health.
  • Volunteer and Intern Management: The RC recruits and mobilizes volunteers and interns as per the requirements of various projects at ENPHO and also provide technical assistance to those volunteers/interns on various aspects of environment and public health.
  • Advocacy Campaigns: The RC design and implement advocacy campaigns in partnership with other partner/network organizations.
  • Networking: ENPHO Resource Centre will work closely with other members of the Resource Centre Network Nepal (RCNN) as well as other partners to share information, coordinate efforts and implement joint activities.
